How to correctly tag your emails?

Tagging an email with TicTag = copy-pasting a text into the body of the message. No software, no configuration, no code. Just a text readable by everyone.

A copy-paste, that's all

You choose the lifespan of your email. You copy the corresponding tag. You paste it into your message. Done.

The recipient sees that the email has an expiry date and can access the explanatory link. The system is transparent, readable and universal.

Everything about tagging

Navigate between tabs to master every aspect of TicTag tagging.

Important rules

For TicTag to work as a shared standard used by as many people as possible, these simple rules must be followed:

Tag + link mandatory

The tag (TicTag1Y, TicTag3Y or TicTag5Y) allows searching for the email. The link to tictag.green/en/info.html allows the recipient to understand the principle and spread the idea.

No custom variants

Standardisation is the key to the system. If everyone invents their own wording, sorting by search becomes impossible.

Copy-paste as is

Use the tags exactly as provided. Do not modify the text, even slightly.

Where to place the tag

At the bottom of the email

Just before the signature, after the main content. This is the most common placement.

In the signature

Integrated directly into your email signature. Ideal for systematic use on all your sends.

Anywhere

As long as the text is present in the body of the message, it will be found by search.

L'important : la balise doit être visible et lisible dans le corps du message.

Best practices

One tag per email

Do not combine multiple durations in the same message. Choose the one most suited to the content.

Choose the most realistic duration

When in doubt, opt for a longer duration. Better to keep an email too long than delete it too early.

Do not modify the text

The standardised wording ensures search works for everyone.

Personal and professional

Use TicTag for your personal and professional emails. The principle works in all contexts.

Which emails to tag

TicTag is particularly suited to single-use or short-lifespan emails. These are emails that are useful in the moment, but have no long-term value:

Reinitialisation de mot de passe, codes de validation, confirmations d'inscription.
